Make do and Mend

Year 6 have been learning about WW2 this term and our DT project was to turn some unwanted fabric in to a reusable shopping bag. We learnt about the Make do and Mend movement during the war which encouraged people to reuse old fabric for something new and also considered sustainability and recycling in our lives now. The students worked hard alongside our super teaching assistants to all produce a bag. Now it’s time for a well earned rest over the holidays. Enjoy year 6!
